Transitions Life Style System

Started the Transitions Life Style System (not to be called a diet). Who are they kidding!!! It is much like the core plan on weight watchers but there are some supplements which help burn fat and break down carbs. The supplements are also for hunger. Day 2 and so far so good. I am not hungry. I will keep you posted. Did my 2 hour gym work out and met a friend for lunch.

I have been sewing and ironing on labels for the past 2 days getting the kids ready for camp. I can't believe how much stuff they have to bring. Just to give you an example they each have to bring 12 towels. It is overwhelming how much stuff needs to be done before end of June. Off to make dinner now.

Spring Break

I had a wonderful week off with my children. It was fun filled. We went to the city to see a Broadway show, the park, biking, the beach and got together with a bunch of families we haven't seen in a while. It was sunny and beautiful here in NY. We couldn't have asked for a better week. We slept late every day and had a nice breakfast together as well. My sister-in-law and the children came to stay with us for 2 days and that was fun too. It's going to be hard to get back to the swing of things. I think I put on 5 pounds this week. Back to school, gym and eating and sleeping right!!!

For all of you who were home with your kids I hope your week was a fabulous as mine.

Wish List Wednesday/Passover/Young Frankenstein

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. I haven't had one second to get on the computer. First I was cooking a planning a Passover Seder for 18 people. If I may pat myself on the back it was a smashing success. I think my cooking gets better every year. I have mastered the Turkey matzoh ball soup by using tips from the mother and the mother-in-law. I am still cleaning up matzoh from Sunday. Also, the children have been off for spring break. I usually do nothing but relax but this time we have had plans every day. Yesterday we went to the city to see the Young Frankenstein. We took the train in because it was going to be a long day and parking in the city is very expensive. We packed a lunch met my sister and her boys with my mom and we ate at Bryant Park. What a beautiful day. We then shopped the streets of Manhattan which I love. Then we headed to the matinee and it was just a terrific fun show. My kids loved it along with the adults. We then met my brother for dinner and got home around 9pm.

So for Wish List Wednesday I only wish that all days can be as wonderful as this Wednesday!!!!

Best Part of the day/Thank You to Patricia

Today I have donut day with my son. It is the day I run around carpooling to get my daughter and 2 friends to a dance class. Since it is boring for the son I implemented donut day. It is our alone time together. We always talk about the best part of the day and the worst. He is usually such a happy kid that fortunately there aren't too many times he has a worst part of the day. So today I asked my question and he said the best part of my day hasn't happened yet. We were on our way to Patricia's who just started giving private art lessons to him. He is so happy. He started last week and couldn't wait to bring his first project to school to show all of his friends. Patricia has been such a great friend and offering her services to my son has been such a gift. She is so busy with her work and 3 children but she still takes the time to give back to my boy. Thanks Patricia for being you!!!
The above is my son's first project with a little help from his teacher!!!
The duct tape is to cover his name and not part of the picture.

Catching Up/Happy Birthday

I know it's been a while since I blogged but I've been a bit crazed. On Friday my entire new kitchen sink area leaked through to the basement. I was on the phone ordering parts for my instant hot, the sprayer and the disposal. What are the odds that all three are broken at once. I am still waiting for 1 part. I am only having 18 people over this weekend and I need to start cooking by Thursday!!!

Saturday was the hubby's birthday!!! The grandparents took the kids for the night and we had a wonderful dinner at this great local restaurant called the Red Hat. When I first moved to Westchester we had to go into the city to get a great meal with a little atmosphere. Now we have a bunch to choose from less then 10 minutes away. Of course it is always nice to get into the city. We are going next week to see the Young Frankenstein on Broadway.

Well Wish List Wednesday seems to be working, my daughter's cold went away ( now my son has one), I am getting a laptop, and I am going to replace my little TV under the counter. If anybody has any suggestions regarding the laptop please let me know. I need it to link to our Dell. Can I get a Mac????

Sunny New York/Finally James Kicked off of BIg Brother

Today was a gorgeous warm and sunny day here in New York. I finally filled out my camp forms for my kid's sleep away camp. I have been in denial that they are leaving me for 7 1/2 weeks this summer. Nothing like the last minute. I was so engrossed in the process that I forgot to eat breakfast. I never forget a meal. Unless I am shopping of course. Anyway I went to tennis on an empty stomach. I played my doubles match today and implement the new serve. Not bad for first time out. I played with some of the top women in the league and they complimented my serve!!! I then had a very nice lunch with a friend sitting outside. I even left food on my plate. Is today opposite day? I never leave food on my plate. Another wonderful day that I am grateful for!!

From 2 weeks ago one of my wishes on Wish List Wednesday was that James gets kicked out of the Big Brother house and that finally happened last night. I hope that it doesn't take 2 weeks for my daughter's cold to go away because she is driving me nuts.

Wish List Wednesday

Had my usual wonderful Wednesday. Knitting with the gals is always great but I had a little treat during tennis. The 3 gals I play with didn't show today so I had a private lesson. It is always great for a little exercise but I also got to brush up on my serve. Watch out ladies I now have a down the line serve. Also since doing a spinning class regularly I am able to run and get balls that I complained I couldn't get since I turned 40!!! Yeah!!! I now know that using the 40's card is no excuse any more. I was just out of shape.

I was also a very bad girl this week. Our carpool didn't go to Hebrew School all week so we did the same. Monday my daughter was sick but my son was fine and today my daughter convinced me that they would be practicing songs and skits for their model Seder which they are unable to attend. I took her word for it and we didn't go. We all just need a little break!!!

On to Wish List Wednesday....
1) Staying on track to get into swimsuit shape

2) My little under the counter TV broke - I want a replacement

3) My daughter has a cold and asked for me to wish for it to get better on Wish List Wednesday. ( how cute is that!!!)

Embarrassed to Say The Bachelor- London Calling

I swore I would not watch this show again and darn it I am addicted. I love and hate it at the same time. Lets talk about last night. I have a new found respect for Shayne. She is a team player. When she was telling the witch (I don't even know or care about her name) that she was monopolizing Matt's time and to give some girls a chance that hadn't had alone time with him I couldn't believe my ears. She is not that selfish little girl I thought she was. Thank goodness he got rid of the drunk/ stripper and the immature/dumb singer.

Looking forward to tonight's TV with Big Brother, Housewives of New York City..... I am sure I am missing some.

Check Out My New Cole Haan Bag

After reading Kwana's blog about how important accessories are I have been searching for the perfect bag. I have looked and looked. I was also willing to spend more than I would usually pay for it. I hated everything I saw. I just needed a new black bag!!! I was telling my sister-in-law about my search and she said she was in the Cole Haan store and saw great bags that she thought I would like. Since I had no time to go to the store I went to my favorite place to shop, ebay. I purchased a new without tags bag with shipping for $70. How about that for a deal. I just love the bag. Even if it ends up being slightly used who cares. I don't treat my bags very well. On it's first outing it will probably look like crap anyway. I just love ebay. I also sell stuff on ebay as well.
Tell me what deals you get on ebay???

Wish List Wednesday - My Favorite Day

Usually Wednesday is hump day and most people are bummed it is not Friday yet, however, it is my most favorite day of the week. First, I start with my knitting club at 9:30. They are my favorite people to hang with and we nosh, knit and gab and gab and gab..... As for my knitting is not too good. I will give you a little example .... I made a pair of leg warmers(see above) for my daughter with a little help from the crew and I wanted to make another pair. Since I didn't have the first pair with me when I started the 2nd pair I guessed on the amount of stitches. I have been knitting it for about 3 weeks, I looked at it today and thought it looks a little wide for a leg warmer. Of course it would fit an obese child but my kid weighs 55 pounds. So now my leg warmers are becoming a hat. Thank goodness for my knitting experts. I was just going to just rip it out and waste 3 weeks of work.

Next I do a doubles tennis clinic with some friends. Not only am I spending time with good friends but I get exercise and I just love tennis.

Now onto Wish List Wednesday:
1. All days were as fun as Wednesday
2. Getting a little better at tennis
3. Getting a little better at knitting

Hooray Our Last Science Fair!!!

So today I have been working with the son on his science fair project. It is an ocean diorama. We also looked up some fun ocean facts. Did you know that octopuses could make themselves camouflage? See the above project. All the artwork is done by him. He is only in 2nd grade. I think we are a great team. This is my last year!!! They are no longer doing science projects in our school for 3rd and 4th graders. I did 4 years with the daughter and 2 projects last year for both. Hooray I am done!!! Anyone else want to share there project.
I got this idea from someones blog.
