Happy Thanksgiving/Christmas week getaway

Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving. It was a lot of work leading up to it but I love it. In Westchester there is not any one store that you can go to. I had to go to 4 different stores for all the stuff I need for a wonderful dinner. Also, I had my kids home on Wednesday so that was hard to do everything and make it a fun day for them. I made 2 new things this year and if I may give myself a pat on the back they were amazing. I made a butternut squash and other veggies ratatouille and an amazing stuffing. I had 14 plus people and it was a wonderful day. This long weekend was all about eating. I will have to work extra hard this week eating healthy and exercising.

I am still looking to do something during Christmas week. Maybe for just 2 days. If anybody has any suggestions in the Northeast that is inexpensive please let me know.

Wish List Wednesday

Sorry I haven't been blogging!!! I will try and be a little better. When I do blog it is so much fun and I wish I had time to read all the blogs that I love.

1) To be better are blogging.

My husband's 1 year package to work on the bankruptcy was not as good as I thought. I thought we had 1 year of job security but we really don't it can end at any time. With that said.....

2) Either a new job for the hubby or more of a guarantee that the work that he is doing will last a long time.

3) Would love to go on vacation (not happening this year so far)

4) That my business trip to Rhode Island this weekend is a huge success and gives me the push that I need.

Sat. New York Times Front Page

Check it out the Cohen's have 15 minutes of fame. I got interviewed for the New York Times and they sent a photographer to our house on Friday night. How cool is that!!! Here is what they had to say....

Forget Caviar: Holiday Parties Feel the Pinch

My friends and I have all been talking about doing a lot more potluck,” said Eileen Cohen, right, with her husband, Jonathan.

Home entertainers are also paring preparations. Eileen Cohen, whose husband is a senior vice president at Lehman Brothers, usually gives elegant dinners featuring baby lamb chops and cut flowers, but on Friday, she planned to serve “turkey chili and appetizers from Costco” for a Halloween party at her home in Ardsley, N.Y.

“My friends and I have all been talking about doing a lot more potluck,” said Mrs. Cohen, whose husband, Jonathan, is still employed, helping the Wall Street firm with its bankruptcy. “We still all want to get together, but one person doesn’t need to absorb the whole cost.”
